Depleted Positions

  1. a depleted position can only occur due to an injury. In other words a manager cannot knowingly create one
  2. players can play at depleted position only when no other player has a rating for the position
  3. players entering game at depleted position are rated as follows: a) defence: 4, max "E" and +4 arm and b) offence: his own batting card

Infield In/Corners In

Infield In

  1. defensive manager states the position of his infield prior to offensive roll of dice
  2. if nothing said, assumption is deep
  3. offensive manager must wait for defensive manager to indicate that he is ready
  4.  if the batter rolls a + chance with infield in then play becomes single with 2 base advance
  5. pitcher is considered in as well
  6. with infield in, runner at first cannot be held

Corners In

  1. defensive manager may only have the corners in (1B & 3B)
  2. if the batter rolls a + chance to 1B or 3B with corners in, then play becomes a single with 2 base advance
  3. any other ground ball to 1B or 3B, follow infield in reading
  4. any other ground ball,  use rules for infield deep
  5. pitcher and catcher considered in as well
  6. 1B may be holding and be in on same play (all + while holding runner results in single - 2 base advance)

Please note following rule change from Strat-O-Matic:

Infield in, bases loaded situation, bunting jumps two letters (if batter is normally a B bunter then he would become a D Bunter)

Outfield In

  1. outfield may be positioned in, in bottom of 9th or later with winning run on 3rd and less than 2 out
  2. all flyballs A & B become single, run scores, game over
  3. if flyball B?, then subtract 7 from runner's run rating
  4. flyball C remains same, batter is out, runners hold

Injury Factor

  1. a roll of the 20-sided dice determines the extent of injury
  2. roll results are shown on the following table:
  3. in case of injury, players may be moved during series but only after game in which injury occurred

1ST ROLL RESULT 2ND ROLL RESULT
1 to 4 stays in game 1 to 8 remainder plus 5
5 to 8 remainder of game 9 to 12 remainder plus 6
